 The EG-8 Developer kit comprises a set of nonprescription eyeglasses with a viewing system integrated within the eyeglass lens.
The EG-8 Integrated Eyewear provides a monocular quarter-VGA image. The weight of the product including eyeglasses is 53 grams. The EG-8 is offered for use with the left eye. The focus of the EG-8 is adjustable from 35 cm to infinity.
The small battery is lightweight and easily clips to a belt or can be carried in a pocket. The EG-8 operates from a rechargeable compact battery that?s integrated in a lightweight, sleek system and is easily clipped to a belt or carried in a pocket. Operating time on a single charge is approximately 6 hours.
The pixel format of the EG-8 is 320 columns by 240 rows. The EG-8 is also offered with MicroOptical?s Bluetooth? wireless imaging adapter. Using wireless connectivity up to 10 meters, colorful graphics and text are digitally conveyed to the user?s view from a host computer. Applications can be created rapidly under MS Windows using MicroOptical?s MOBILS? software tools.
The EG-8 Developer kit is a beta site demonstration system for testing; this kit includes the EG-8 eyeglasses and display optics, a Software Development Guide and tools CD, LCD display system, 450 mW removable lithium ion battery, battery charger and an instruction manual. The OEM single unit price of the EG-8 viewer is $8,000. The EG-8 is only available to qualified OEM accounts.
Please note: In addition to the Bluetooth option, the EG-8 can also be ordered for the following input signals: NTSC or serial interface. The NTSC option is a full video rate product capable of full motion video at 60 frames per second. It provides convenient controls for adjusting the contrast and brightness of the image.
