The BV-3 Binocular Viewer projects a free-floating monitor in front of both eyes and provides a color VGA image. This allows the user to maintain their awareness of their surroundings while viewing the image. The focus of the BV-3 is fixed at approximately 1 meter. Audio speakers are included upon request.
The pixel format of the BV-3 is 640 columns by 480 rows, and the color depth is 18-Bit (262,144 colors). The BV-3 is available in two versions depending on the input signal being used.
The BV-3 provides convenient controls that are integrated with a battery in a lightweight system that is easily clipped to a belt. Operating time on a single charge is approximately 5 hours.
The viewer can be made compatible with either a standard VGA signal from a computer source or with video signals from NTSC video and PAL sources. Input to the BV-3 for VGA sources is through a conventional DB-15 connector ? the same connector found on computer monitors.
The BV-3 kit includes the BV-3 optics, LCD display system, interface electronics for either VGA or NTSC input, lithium ion battery, battery charger, signal splitter for VGA or NTSC, AC power supply, belt clip, VGA or RCA cable, optical cloth and an instruction manual. The single unit OEM price for the BV-3 viewer is $8,000. The BV-3 is only available to qualified OEM accounts.
